​The Oklahoma Native Plant Society is hosting its annual Wonders of Wildflowers Weekend on Saturday, May 14-16, 2021 at the University of Central Oklahoma’s biological field station, the Selman Living Lab, located in the Cimarron Gypsum Hills in northwestern Oklahoma.  UCO’s Selman Living Lab is located in the Cimarron Gypsum Hills of northwestern Oklahoma. It is a biological field station composed of a 320-acre natural area of mixed-grass prairie with gypsum outcrops, riparian areas, cave entrances, and sandsage grassland. A facilities site near the natural area has a trailer, two bunkhouses, astronomy domes, and a multi-purpose building/ safe room with a kitchen and eating/meeting space.

COVID-19 protocols will be in place. Face masks will be required. We will eat meals outdoors if the weather permits; please bring a lawn chair so we can spread out. Registration is limited to 30 individuals and each individual must submit a separate online registration (see form below).  Registration for this event can also be mailed by printing this form and submitting payment to address listed on form.  

Please register as early as possible but no later than May 1, 2021 to ensure meals!

Watch for ONPS Signs
Lodging Options:
1) Bunk at the SLL facilities site for free. Because of UCO COVID-19 restrictions, we will need to limit trailer and bunkhouse occupancy. We can accommodate up to about 15 people. You will need to bring a sleeping bag and pillow, towels, etc. You can also camp at the SLL if you wish. If you wish to stay at the SLL, please e-mail Gloria Caddell at gcaddell@uco.edu as early as possible. Reservations for accommodations there will be first come-first served.
2) Camp at Alabaster Caverns State Park, located about 7 miles from the SLL. Book a campsite through their website on travelok.com or call (580) 621-3381.
3) The Stables Lodge is a very nice lodge (with just a few rooms) at the entrance to Alabaster Caverns State Park. Check availability by calling (580) 621-3491.
4) Boiling Springs State Park is located about 30 miles from the SLL. Book a cabin or campsite through their website on travelok.com or call (580) 256-7664.
5) Woodward, about 30 miles from the SLL, has many motels, including: Northwest Inn, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Days Inn, La Quinta, Candlewood Suites.
6) Alva, about 40 miles from the SLL, also has several motels.
