Wonders of Wildflowers Meeting Information
The Oklahoma Native Plant Society has rescheduled its annual Wonders of Wildflowers Weekend at the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve (north of Pawhuska, OK) for June 2-4. Online registration has expired. Onsite registration will be available at the event (minus pre-ordered meal).
Tentative Schedule of Events
Friday, June 2
7:00 pm – Early check in and socializing at Dink’s BBQ, 2929 E. Frank Phillips Blvd., Bartlesville. Early arrivals—opportunities on your own for photos, bison viewing at Tall Grass Prairie. The Preserve closes at 5 pm.
Saturday, June 3
Breakfast on your own.
8:30 am – Meet at Tall Grass Prairie Preserve Headquarters. Check in/Registration. (see map)
9:00 am – Guided botanizing on the Preserve.
Noon – Catered lunch at Preserve Research Station. Lunchtime presentation by Bob Hamilton, Preserve Steward, on history of the Preserve.
1:30 pm – Guided botanizing on the Preserve
5:00 pm (approximately) – Return to lodging
7:00 pm – Meet for dinner at Luigi’s Italian Restaurant, 3822 E Frank Phillips Blvd, Bartlesville.
Sunday, June 4
9:00 am – Guided botanizing at Osage Hills State Park west of Bartlesville. (see map)
Drive time from Bartlesville to Tallgrass Prairie is 45 minutes to an hour.
Osage Hills Park is approximately mid-way between Bartlesville and Tallgrass Prairie.
